Dry Fruit Prices in India: How to Compare Cost Per Kg

A simple way to compare dry fruit prices across pack sizes, plus quality checks before you buy.

Dry fruit prices can look very different depending on pack size. The easiest way to compare is cost per kilogram.

Compare cost per kg

Divide the pack price by the weight in grams, then multiply by 1,000. For example, a 250g pack at ₹400 works out to ₹1,600 per kg. A 1kg pack at ₹1,400 is cheaper per gram, so bigger packs are usually better value if you will use them.

Which pack size should you pick?

  • 250g: good for trying a new product or for gifting
  • 500g: a sensible family size for regular use
  • 1kg: best for festivals, cooking and sharing

Quality checks before you buy

  • Even size and colour across the pack
  • No musty smell or dark spots
  • A crisp bite, not a soft or chewy one (except raisins)
  • Clear packaging with a resealable pouch

Store them well

Keep dry fruits in an airtight jar in a cool, dry place. In summer, refrigerate to keep them fresh longer.
